The Franklinville Inn’s menu reads like a love letter to classic American cuisine, elevated with fresh, local ingredients and meticulous preparation. Seafood lovers will find their cravings met with standout choices such as the velvety Crab Bisque, the succulent Crab Cake, and the indulgent Crab Au Gratin. Each dish bursts with layers of flavor—the bisque’s creamy richness, the crab cakes’ perfect crust and tender interior, and the au gratin’s golden, cheesy topping all beckon to be savored slowly.
Steak aficionados are equally spoiled with options like the King Cut Prime Rib, Fillet Mignon, New York Strip Steak, and the buttery, flavorful Ribeye Steak. These cuts are expertly seared to bring out the natural juiciness and depth of flavor, a fact attested by patrons like Joe Celona, who raved about the filet mignon as being “one of the best I’ve ever had.” The sides—creamed spinach, loaded baked potatoes, and stuffed potatoes—round out the meal with the perfect balance of comfort and refinement.
For those seeking a sweeter finish, the dessert menu provides exquisite choices such as the tangy and refreshing Key Lime Pie, the luxuriously creamy Crème Brûlée, and the decadently layered Tiramisu. Each dessert is a thoughtful crescendo, crafted to leave a lasting impression of indulgence and satisfaction.

From the moment you walk into the Franklin Inn, you feel a sense of warmth and history. The cozy, inviting atmosphere is the perfect backdrop for what I can only describe as an unforgettable dining experience. While every dish is a treat, the true star of the show is, without a doubt, the steak. I ordered the filet and it was, quite simply, one of the best I've ever had. Perfectly seared with a beautiful crust on the outside, it was unbelievably tender and juicy on the inside. Each bite was packed with rich, savory flavor that truly melted in my mouth. It's clear that the chefs at the Franklin Inn have a mastery of their craft, treating the high-quality cut of meat with the respect it deserves. The impeccable service and charming ambiance only added to the perfection of the meal. If you're a steak lover, do yourself a favor and make a reservation here. You won't be disappointed.
Our first time at The Franklinville Inn was great. The food was delicious. Just a couple of things though. Their website says the dress code is “business casual” - I’m pretty sure this means you cannot wear sneakers, hats and tshirts but yet there were plenty of patrons wearing such. I didn’t like that I took it seriously but others have no pride. The restaurant should really crack down on that OR change your dress code on the website ! The other thing was the time it took between meals to get your next plate. Overall we sat down for dinner for 2 hours. Which was not by choice this was just how slow the service was or they timed everything was. Our waitress was phenomenal though! The kitchen did cook one of our prime ribs rare when it was supposed to be medium rare. But no biggie they fixed the steak. (The steak in the picture was cooked to perfection)
Absolutely fantastic food and service. My husband and I snagged seats at the bar a few months ago and ended up having a fantastic meal. We have been so excited to go back for our anniversary but thought it was unlikely for it to be so great again. Well, I was wrong! My husband ordered the filet and I ordered the crab cakes. We split and shared our meals plus the sherried mushrooms and mashed sweet potato sides. All of it was delicious! Although I really loved the creamed spinach last time as well. I love how the meal comes with the soup or salad, bread and a side. The caesar salad and fresh bread were delicious. For dessert we had the bread pudding and key lime pie. The bread pudding was a special and was amazing. We really enjoyed the vibe in the bar area. There are nice booths vs the other rooms that have more of an old house feel. Although it’s a pricey dinner, it is still much more affordable than dinner at a high end place in Philly. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!
Our second time there. We thought the first time had to be a fluke, it being so good. So, this second time, it was the exact same. If I could give it a 12/10 I would! It literally didnt disappoint in one single area. The food is amazinggggg. And we went at Christmas and the atmosphere was wonderful, definitely brought the Christmas cheer
My family and I have been dining here for years- initially from a recommendation from a close family friend (boy were they right about this place). Everytime since has been absolutely exceptional from the quality of food, service, and atmosphere. Special thanks to our server Viacheslav who made my husband and I’s birthday dining experience special. We will be back!
This is, hands-down, the best eatery in New Jersey. All of the food is excellent. The wait-staff is friendly and professional. Prices are just right for the excellent food, service, and atmosphere. There's a reason why reservations fill up so quickly for this fine establishment. The reason: it's amazing. My go to favorites here are the Filet Mignon, creamed spinach, and Caesar Salad. You cannot go wrong, though, as everything in the menu is delightful.
Perfect place for a wonderful, quiet Birthday celebration. Server Kyia (spelling) was amazing and provided amazing service. The food was 100% on point from the bread to the dessert.
